Curves are where cabinetmaking gets serious. This island wraps around into a full banquette, so every panel had to be bent, checked and fitted to tolerances you can feel with your hand.

We dry-assembled the curved carcasses in the workshop before anything went to site, then installed it all on a hidden LED plinth so the island appears to float. Green velvet seating, a brass rod screen and a lit bookshelf wall finish the room.

It is one of many homes we have built alongside Baihn Construction in Brisbane.
