The bones of this kitchen were good: a big island, plenty of bench space and a generous galley. What let it down was everything else. Honey maple doors, a dark granite top and exposed appliances made the room feel heavy and dated.

We kept the footprint and changed the feeling. The island now wears fluted white panels with a waterfall end and a built-in wine fridge. The fridge disappears behind tall integrated panels, and a run of timber-look overheads adds warmth against the bright stone and brushed brass tap.

The laundry got the same treatment, so the whole back of the house finally feels like one design. Drag the slider above to see how far it came.
