Under-stair joinery in Maroochydore

The space under a staircase is usually wasted or filled with something that never quite fits. Here we followed the line of the stair exactly, so each oak door is cut on the angle and closes flush into one clean sloping face.

Behind them sit robes with hanging rails, a wine rack, deep drawers and a padded bench seat at the low end. Closed up, it looks like a single piece of furniture. Open, it holds a surprising amount.
